This is my revised first seed packet. I applied my own ideas, alot the feedback I got from last week's critique, and the advice given to me by Professor Pannafino to this new seed packet.

This was my first seed packet design for our first critique. I got alot of feedback from the class as a whole and have changed it significantly since.

Seed Packet Mind Map

This was our seed packet mind map exercise done in class on Sept. 13. We brainstormed ideas for our seed packet using a graphic map. A mind map is a series of ideas or concepts that stems off of ideas before it. Mind mapping is used to help you comprehend or regenerate new ideas.

4 Logos

This exercise was very helpful in learning the basics of adobe illustrator. For the UPS logo, I used the reflect tool to create mirror images of the shield and the box. I used the pen tool to create the letters. It was my first time using the pen tool and the letters turned out a bit jagged. The apple logo was easier to create using the pen tool. I then used the knife tool to separate each color section. The virgin mobile logo was the most tedious to create. I used the pen tool to trace the letters but because the image was so pixelated when I zoomed in, it was hard to tell where the logo was meant to be jagged and where the pixels made it jagged. The NFL logo was the easiest to create. I used the reflect tool for the shield, the star shape tool for the stars, the pen tool for the football, and the pen tool again for the letters. These letters were easier to create because I only had to use corner anchorpoints.

5 things that work in all applications

Upon watching the "5 things that work in all applications" video on www.lynda.com I learned that the file menu, cut copy paste, undo redo, preferences, and the help menu are generally universal throughout different applications. They have slight differences when it comes to Mac vs. Windows such as preferences being called options in window applications. I also learned that the redo button can be used for more than just redoing something that you previously undid. Redo can be used to reapply whatever task you just applied to other selected text. All in all, the video was useful.
